The Sidewalks Have Obstacles

Unfortunately, many sidewalks in Asunción have serious obstacles that could block a wheelchair user. Sometimes the sidewalks have steep inclines/declines, stairs, holes, or are crumbling. 

Avenue Mariscal López is one of the major roads in Villa Morra, and its sidewalks are actually fine. But other roads can have serious problems.

Expats who are disabled and need a wheelchair should consider these facts when thinking about Paraguay. Technically, there are disability laws in Paraguay, but it appears that they aren't always enforced, especially when it comes to sidewalks
