Problems with other Solutions

While other organizations exist to help nomads and expats in Paraguay feel at home, there are some issues.

Spanish Schools

Other Spanish schools here don't offer daily extracurricular activities.

Many classes don't follow a curriculum. Some group classes are filled with 6 students of different skill-levels.

Instead of learning Latino Spanish and Paraguayan slang, some schools only give written exercises which come from Spain.

Facebook Groups

The Digital Nomads and Expats Facebook Group is active, and has over 6,000 members! They are a great community.

They have two regular meetups per week, and English is the primary language spoken there.

Although the Facebook Groups been impactful, nomads and expats are still left lacking a daily social routine that prioritizes Spanish.

WhatsApp Sports Groups

Fortunately, there are large WhatsApp groups where you can join casual athletes for football, running, hiking, cycling, pickleball, and more.

However, the outings tend to be weekly, which doesn't provide a daily routine.

Rooted Friendships

The strongest friendships come from a shared struggle. In this case, the challenge of learning Spanish unites each class of 3-4 students.

Going to school is the oldest trick in the book for making friends! Classes are grouped by skill-level, which creates the opportunity for students to study and do homework together after school.

School Routine

Routine is good for mental health. Every day, Monday-Friday, group classes are from 9am-1pm, with a 20 minute break. Fluido only hires professional teachers who have education or language degrees, and experience teaching Spanish as a second language

Students are in a 40 unit-long curriculum, and their daily homework always includes Paraguayan slang and history.

Cultural Immersion

Fluido currently offers 1-2 cultural activities every week, with participation from classmates, Fluido teachers, and locals. Our goal is to offer 3-5 weekly activities by July 2026.

Activities will range from weekly salsa dance classes, volunteer nights, to Paraguayan cooking classes, and more.

    FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions from prospective students

    • Why is Fluido more expensive than other schools?

Fluido provides a premium Spanish immersion program, with a world-class team, in a world-class facility.

Our premium enable us to hire and retain the best teachers in Paraguay, rent a comfortable facility in the centralized Villa Morra neighborhood, provide complimentary locally roasted coffee, and host regular events such as salsa classes and asado barbecues.

Fluido is not built for students who only want to learn Spanish. Fluido is built for expats who are struggling to feel at home in Paraguay. Our experience gives expats rooted friendships, a school routine, and a cultural immersion.

That being said, when analyzed at an hourly rate, Fluido is not as expensive as it may appear. It's only about $15 per hour for group classes.

    • How many students will be in my class?
Only up to four students will be in a group class.
    • Do I have to come to class every day?
Our group classes are a weekly program; therefore students are expected to attend each day, Monday - Friday. We can make exceptions on a case-by-case basis.

Our private classes are scheduled on a flexible basis, and do not need to be daily.
    • Do you offer online classes?
No, we only offer in-person classes. Our mission is to make expats feel at home in Paraguay, which we accomplish in-person with our intensive immersion program.

Students looking for online classes could check out platforms like Preply or iTalki.
    • How long will it take me to become fluent?
We can't make a promise, but we approximate 2 - 6 months, assuming you study seriously in our group classes. We assign homework!

If you are starting from absolutely 0, it might take 2-3 months before you're able to be somewhat conversational, and 3-6 months before you're pretty fluent.

You can increase your rate of growth by studying, doing the homework you're assigned in class, talking with locals regularly, and being willing to make mistakes. Age can be a factor; older students sometimes learn slower than younger ones. Students who already know a Latin language learn Spanish much faster.

You get out what you put in!
    • Do I need to bring anything to class?
Nope! On your first day, we'll provide you with a notebook, pens, a highlighter, and a tote bag to carry everything with.
    • Will I learn the Paraguayan Spanish dialect?
You'll learn Latin American Spanish. By default, you won't learn the "vosotros" conjugations that are only used in Spain.

You will also learn the regional and Paraguayan dialect. For example, we say "vos" in Paraguay instead of "tú". You'll learn both, and can request your teacher to focus on either a general dialect or the local one.
    • When can I start class?
Tomorrow! Our classes have a rolling admission. We'll invite you to a tour of our school and test your Spanish. If we have an open seat in a group class that's your level, you can start immediately. We just try to give the teacher notice at least one day in advance to prepare for a new student to join their class.
    • Do you provide acceptance letters to help with my visa application to Paraguay?
Unfortunately, we do not provide acceptance letters nor can we help with any visa applications. Fluido is not an accredited academic institution, therefore any acceptance letter would not be qualified for visa purposes.
    • Can my child attend Fluido?
Fluido does not accept any students under 18 years old.
    • What payment methods does Fluido accept?

Fluido accepts credit/debit card, cash (Guaraníes only), and Paraguayan bank transfers.

We do not accept crypto, or any cash currency besides Guaraníes.

    • How far in advance should I plan my classes?

1-4 weeks in advance is the best time that you could plan with us. We're happy to talk further out than that and can reserve your seat if you pay a deposit.

It's okay to reach out to us last-minute, however please not that we have limited seats and may not have any open seats in your skill level.

    • Is there a minimum length of time I must attend class?
No. Ideally, you'll be here for at least one week, but we have made exceptions for students who are just in Paraguay for a few days during their residency application process.
    • Who are your teachers?
Our teachers are the best in the country. They all have grown up in Paraguay, love to share their culture, and have a formal education in linguistics, teaching, or a related field. Though we've had thousands of teachers apply to work at Fluido, we've only found and hired four who meet (and exceed) our high standards.

Avoid isolation in Paraguay, and open the door to your new home .
