Comedores are small, sometimes unofficial restuarants that serve lunch on weekdays in Paraguay. They often have limited menu's and their food feels homemade. In fact, some of the owners who run the comedor, live in the same house that its run out of. That's right! Sometimes it feel like your eating in somebody's personal dining room.
How much do comedores cost in Paraguay
The standard price is 18,000 Guaranies, which is about $2.30. This covers a main protein and a side dish. If you want to buy a bottled drink, it will bring the total price closer to $3.50. Some comedores charge the same price for whatever dish you order, while others have pricing ranging from 16,000 G's to 30,000 G's.

Since comedores rarely show up on google maps, we marked them off with stars here. The first one, on Quesada street, is the most professional with the most options. The others are more hidden and homestyle.

Comedor 3: Yeya

Expats willing to walk a little to Los Laureles will find some incredible homemade food here. Sometimes there is only one or two things on the daily menu, and they are always delicious. The staff is friendly and likes to talk to foreigners and share their culture. It's located at MCR8+P62, M Mellones, Asunción 001420, Paraguay, across form the gas station.
Food in on other Paraguayan Cities
Food pricing and freshness varies in Paraguayan cities. Asunción is not on any coast, and its river is unfortunately polluted. Therefore, its hard to find truly fresh fish. However, one can easily find fresh fish in Ciudad del Este, according to Work Wealth and Travel.
