Ma Ochun

Ma Ochun teaches Salsa Cubana (Cuban Salsa), also known as "Casino." Salsa Cubana has a more open and urban vibe than typical "Salsa Lineal" ("Linear Salsa", also known as "On 1").

A benefit of learning this is that the only dedicated salsa bar in Asunción is a Cuban bar named Oye Chico. So dancers can learn to dance Salsa Cubana at Ma Ochun, and then practice their moves at Oye Chico.

Ma Ochun offers four different levels of both Salsa Cubana and Bachata. A single class costs Gs. 40,000, but monthly plans drop the price towards Gs. 17,000.

Latin Company Asunción

Latin Company teaches Linear Salsa, also known as "On 1", or "En 1" in spanish. Linear Salsa is the most common type of Salsa around the world, so it's great for somebody who wants to be able to dance with any partner.

They teach Salsa twice a week, and also teach bachata. A single class costs Gs. 30,000, but they offer daily and monthly deals for much lower prices. Though it's towards the center of Asunción, its location on Avenue Mariscal López makes it an easy bus ride from Villa Morra, or other neighborhoods popular with expats.

Salsa Soul Studio

Salsa Soul teaches Salsa Caleña, a unique variation of Salsa from Cali, Colombia. It's known for lots of leg movement and kicks, making more it energetic than other types. They also teach bachata at Salsa Soul Studio. Salsa Soul seems to have the nicest facilities; indoors with air conditioning.
